ACS CAN Action Alert - Massachusetts Lobby Day 3/14

I just received the following Action Alert from the American Cancer Society's Cancer Action Network:

"Have you registered to attend the American Cancer Society Lobby Day yet?  If not, there is still time!

Lobby Day will be held on Wednesday, March 14th at 11:00 a.m. in Room 437 at the Massachusetts State House in Boston. Please RSVP today!

Whether you are able to attend or not, you can still help!  Please email your state legislators and ask them to attend on March 14th to show their support for the American Cancer Society’s legislative priorities.

American Cancer Society and ACS CAN advocates from around the state will join together in support of evidence-based cancer prevention policies.

As a volunteer and supporter, your voice and presence is invaluable to our advocacy efforts.  We hope you will join us on March 14th

I plan to take my lunch hour early to go over and see what this is all about.  At minimum, I'd like to discuss the current push from Big Tobacco to make certain cigars exempt from smoking regulations.  Even more troublesome, the deregulation would allow companies to continue selling flavored cigars, which was one of the ways tobacco is made more attractive to children.

**Our next Committee/Team Captain meeting is scheduled for 3/13 at St. Basil's Chapel.  The Committee Meeting will start at 6:15, and the Team Captain Meeting starts at 7:15.  All are welcome!**
