So you want to be a Team Captain...

Well, guess what?!  We have tons of resources for you so you don't become overwhelmed with your new role.

**But first:  As of 3/02/2012, we have 81 participants, 17 teams, and $7,202 toward our 2012 Relay goals!  Keep up the good work!!  And remember, we have incentives if you sign up your team by the next team captain's meeting...**

A special congratulations to the Concord Dream Team for their Silver Team Fundraising Club Level.  And we'd also like to congratulate Marylyn Aiello, Denise Sheppard and Janet Brown - all three hit the Bronze Individual Fundraising Club Level!!

First things first, check out this one-pager on How To Be A Great RFL Team Captain.  This will give you the ins and outs of building your team, as well as a list of bullet points to cover during the year.

Once you've formed your team, we have a bunch of learning modules for you in the Relay For Life Library.  Did you want to learn what's next?  It's in module 1.  How about organizing your team?  Yep, module 2's got it!  Or maybe you want to focus on new ways to fundraise - check out module 3!  And we can show you how to make Relay even more fun in module 4.  All of the modules include text-only versions or voice options, and they are all in MS Powerpoint format.

We also have a Team Captain Toolkit in Team Captain Central.  There are links for the Team Captain and Team Member Handbooks, a Track Walker Schedule, the ABCs of Fundraising (a fantastic two-pager with different fundraising ideas), and information for Relay Online Registration.  Our overall theme is the 2012 Olympics, but there is also a link for Team Themes to get your minds rolling.

Maybe, in focusing on your fundraising goal, you'd like to keep your team motivated.  This year, your team captain packet includes a form with a Goal Thermometer.  You can pull out the form at each team captain meeting or at your individual team meetings to show where you are in reference to your goal.  And don't forget to update the form with online AND in person/cash donations!

I've also included a 16-page Adobe .pdf file of the Team Captain Guidebook with everything you need to get ready for our Relay!  As always, if you have any questions or would like to bounce some ideas off the committee members or other team captains, email us at relaybridgewater@gmail.com.

Don't forget to follow us on Facebook! You can also reach the website at http://www.relaybridgewater.org/ or email us at relaybridgewater@gmail.com.
