The Luminaria Ceremony

The Luminaria Ceremony is one of the most emotional ceremonies during Relay.  The track is lined with bags honoring mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends, coworkers, and many others.  The skies darken, and we light our candles to remember those no longer with us and those who are currently fighting.

We always offer the classic, white luminaria bags, but you also have the opportunity to personalize the bags either before Relay or when you pick up bags at the Registration tent.  You can use their name, photo, a message, or a picture to memorialize or honor them.  (My only suggestion would be to use a copy of a photo or other memorabilia, just in case the bag flames up.)

Be sure to take pictures of your luminaria bags to share on the Relay website or your Facebook page.

Don't forget to follow us on Facebook! You can also reach the website at http://www.relaybridgewater.org/ or email us at relaybridgewater@gmail.com.
